"Accent Color Troubles!"

Every year the musical hosts a concert so we can make money
It's a night full of singing and everyone is funny

But my dilemma came from what to wear
This very problem gave me much despair

Black was the color our outfits had to be
But the catch was an accent for everyone to see

Hats and bracelets, ribbons and bows
I wanted to be different with the accent I chose

Thoughts flew through my mind but nothing was great
I needed an idea before it got late

The pressure was on what would I do
Colored stockings, burgundy, now that would be new

Off to the store with my fingers crossed
Hoping my effort would not be lost

Down the isle at a feverish pace
There I found my stockings starring me in the face

So I went home to see my outfit complete
Boy was I in for a very big treat

One last glance in the mirror just to make sure
My outfit looked great now out the door!

  1. The burgundy stockings with black looks really good! I would have never thought of that, but it is such a great idea. Good thinking! Your poem flows so nicely, and I love how its simple to read so you can tell how you were feeling while reading.
