Sandy was her name, she was a large storm
But it was okay, I was home safe and warm
Watching the news to see where she would go
One thing was for sure, her wind would really blow
Hour after hour it seemed to get worse
When all of a sudden there was a big burst
Off went the lights, tv and all
A victim to Sandy the power did fall
Not a glimmer of light, now what do we do?
I suggested we play a game or two
Flashlights and candles would light up the room
The game of Life would take away the gloom
It was fun, it made us laugh
Time flew by a whole hour and a half
Then we were tired so we packed up the game
Being in the dark wasn't so lame
So the next time a hurricane takes light from you
Now you know exactly what to do
-A Girl in the dark
Angelica I really enjoyed your poem. You made the storm not seem so bad at all. It was positive and cute. I really enjoy also how you sign the end of your poems. Keep it up great job! (:
ReplyDeleteI like your poem a lot and how you made the best of a rough situation. I just layed around and did nothiny but now I regret not playing games or doing anything fun!
ReplyDeleteI love the whole "A Girl in the Dark", very creative. Hope your power comes back soon ang glad everyone stayed safe :)!!
ReplyDeleteYour poems are adorable! Your rhyming is very good! During the storm I did the same thing with my family except I played Candy Land and Cranium Dice! :)
ReplyDeleteAngelica it sucks your power went off but being as positive as you always are you just moved on and played a game. I admit i played boardgames too during the Sandy made poweroutages and it isnt such a bad way to pass time but im glad i have power back as im sure you are. Very cute poem and event.
